This means that Precision Windsports can now issue airworthiness certificates to weight-shift control aircraft. Many of you involved in transitioning your ultralights to LSA realize that the most challenging aspect of this process is not the registration but getting your airworthiness certificate. DARs are few and far between. Additionally, most of the DARs doing this work right now come from a fixed-wing, amateur-built background and are unfamiliar with the rules governing LSAs. Consequently, many of them have made this final transition hurdle much harder than it was designed to be. So hard in fact that the FAA recently issued a memo to all DARs telling them to stop demanding applicants do more than the regulations require. Since Precision Windsports is exclusively weight-shift LSA we are intimately familiar with the requirements for certification of weight-shift control aircraft. We have personally registered and certified several of our own and customer E- and S-LSA aircraft so we know what it is like to be on the difficult end of this process. If you are in need of DAR services and feel that Precision Windsports might be able to help you please contact us info@precisionwindsports.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
